Access Statement for Millers Beck Country Guest House and Self Catering


We are a 4 room Guest House and 2 apartment Self Catering provider.
Everyone is welcome but due to constraints of building it may not be suitable for people with certain disabilities.


• Public transport is limited but local bus service passes house several times a day.
• Train services available at Oxenholme (approx 1.5 miles away) and Kendal (approx 2.5 miles away)

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

• We are located on A65 between Crooklands and Kendal.
• Parking areas are provided at front and back of house.
• Parking at front is flagged and rear tarmaced. Parking limited to one space per room. 
• Surface at rear has slope. 

.• Luggage assistance is always offered.
  Check out by 10.30 am on day of departure.

Main Entrance, Reception & Ticketing Area

• No steps to Guest House area.
• 1 apartment has 5 steps to entrance other full flight of stairs with one turn half way.
• Entrance is tiled.
• Hallway is carpeted.
• Seating in hallway.

Public Areas - Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors etc

• Hallway carpeted.
• Stairs carpeted.
• Breakfast room in conservatory off the hallway.  Floor carpeted
• B&B rooms up two flights of 13 steps each.  Sitting area at first floor level with entrance to decked balcony.
• All corridors are carpeted.

Public Areas - Sitting room, lounges, lobbies etc

• Sitting area is carpeted.

• Tiled floor, accessed from entrance lobby.

• Carpeted conservatory.  Threshold to step over.

• Garden access down 4 steps onto patio area.  Step from patio to lawned area.  Lawn uneven.

• Bedroom doors 2'6'' wide.  Up one step from landing.
• Rooms have chair

• Tea/coffee making facilities provided

• Step into shower cubicles.

• Some road noise in some bedrooms
